Reading Vars from Text File

Hey, i have a text file with variables like

$title = "The Title of this page";
$content = "
<p>
<font face='Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif' size='1'>
Alton Towers is known all over the world for it's ground breaking attractions, and theming to match. Each of these sections provides detailed information on each area, including which attractions you will find there, how to get around and where to eat.</font>
</p>
";
$page = "bleh";

I want to be able to read the value of each variable and print it on a page, im not sure if this is possible as i have tried a few methods and not had any luck.

Seems like you are writing the content of your site inside a text file and pull it from there.

I'm not going to solve your problem, anyway. What I would do is to suggest you to use database instead. You can store those information in MySQL database and everything will be easier for you.

Well, that's the best alternative, I think.

If for any reasons you insist to use the text file, just try to build some regular expressions using preg_match or preg_replace or some other functions.

Well it's for a template system and im trying to write an admin so that you can edit the content on each page, but i suppose i could use a database for the admin and get it to write it to each file when the person has edited it, just doesn't seem like the best way of doing it.

Nah, it's for the best: the overhead of reading text files, parsing text files and so on is much greater than that from database use. Plus a database is much tidier.

Lemme put it this way: Slashdot uses a database...
