ImageTTFText not available

My hosting service provides PHP 4.2.2 Linux / Apache with GD Library 1.8...
PHP compiled with 'with - ttf'.

My understanding is that ImageTTFText and related functions should be available. However, php reports that the function is undefined.

What else do I need to to make this function available?

Hey,

If you take a look at the output from phpinfo() you should see a '--with-ttf' part in the configure options. If not, it has not been compiled with TTF support.

It could also be the case that that function did not compile properly...

Thanka for your input, but, as I pointed out in the post, it is compiled '-with ttf'- (and that's what phpinfo reports) hence my puzzlement as to why its not working.
