PHP to HTML

Hi,

I am trying to enable someone to enter HTML into a textbox and hit Show, to show the HTML as a page. At the moment, whenever I include quotes(" ") using 'echo $html' it places a \ backslash before them in the output HTML - stopping it from working properly, i.e the HTML ends up as <font face =\"verdana\"> which the browser won't read.

Does anyone know any way around this?

this function takes all html code and add slashes to anything echoed back to the browser...what you should try to the write function to create a new file on the fly. look at...

You can also use stripslashes($string) to counteract this.

The correct answer (sorry guys 😉) is to check if the magic_quotes_runtime directive is set.

You can do this by using the function get_magic_quotes_runtime

when this option is on
You can then either turn it off with set_magic_quotes_runtime () function, or turn it of in your php.ini

at last you could use stripslashes, but this has the least favor, since that works out the symptom of the problem, not the cause, if you get what i mean 😉

Try checking the get_magic_quotes_gpc () directive, if you're using any kind of get, post, cookie, etc... if this is turned on, you have no choice but either turning it off in your php.ini, or using stripslashes.

Try avoiding stripslashes, though, it might strip more slashes than you would like 🙂

Im using the stripslashes thanks, and it IS now working.. was making a stupid little error in coding , hehe🙂
