PHP Post Form Variable Oddity

I have an interview form set up on one of my sites. Recently I've had a problem where some of the interviews come to me blank, even though I have personally verified with the people who sent them that they were filled in properly. This appears to be random and is not specific to any one browser or user. Re-submission of the interview might or might not work. Please realize that this DOES WORK most of the time, just not all the time.

The form is fairly standard:

<form action="interview.php" method="POST">
....
X. Question X
<textarea name="questionX" cols="50" rows="5"></textarea>
....
</form>

The PHP processes the form by a series of lines like:

$message .= "Question X: ".$questionX;

Then at the end, the whole $message is shoved into a database. What I end up with when I view it is something like:

Question 1:
Question 2:
...
Question X:

With no answers.

Does anyone know what might be causing it to randomly drop the post vars?

Post the code that puts the questions into the database.

Sounds like you could either have a problem with that or retrieving the code from the database
