where \n gives you a new line, \t tabs. The email body is plain text not html so the <br> doesn't work.
If you want html (and looks so much better) check out some of the scripts available from here and weberdev. I've just put some on my site using an html class and phplib's template to create the $body string and it looks so much more professional.
