PHP/Apache Configuration Problem with Extensions

OK I am at the last step of configuring PHP and Apache together where i Create the phpinfo.php File and copy it to an Apache Folder. The problem ive encountered is another program i have isntalled (Microsoft Home Publisher) Also uses the extension .PHP for projects. Now is the only way around my problem to uninstall MHP or is there something else I can do. Please try not to use big advanced PHP words as I am still not to familiar with them.

I think that you do not have to do nothing else, because the association of the extension is not connected with execution of php scripts.

If you have everything configured, you can start your internet browser ( probably Internet Explorer ) and type into the URL this:

http://localhost/phpinfo.php

and if everything is OK, you will see your PHP configuration.
