php reads perl cookie

ok this is a cookie set by a perl forum. now I want to access this via php, is this possible, how can I do that? I have no idea.

It depends. Cookies are not language-specific . . . a cookie is a cookie is a cookie, whether it was set w/ ASP, PHP, Perl, JavaScript, etc. On the other hand, they can only be read by the same domain that set the cookie (or same specific machine if specified). So, if your domain set the forum cookie, yeah, you can read it. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

Try using $_COOKIE['varname'] to access it

like jaygatsby said: you have to be on the same domain (or path -- depending on how the perl prog set the cookie) in order to read it.

if you have register globals on, you may be able to access it via:

$varname

where varname, of course, is the cookie's name.
