loading data from a web/ftp address?

Is it possible to load data into mysql from a web or ftp address? Something like:

load data infile 'webaddress?' into table...

Now that's not working, but is there something else that would give you the same, or even close to the same, result?

I'm sorry, just text. So like

http://www.whatever.com/data/file.txt

that would be a , delimited file ready for loading.

does that help?
