page edit

Im looking to being able to edit my template files from a web form. I know how to do this if the info was stored in a db, but im not sure of how to edit the .tpl files themeselves. I dont want anythign fancy like a wysiwyg. Just a form that shows the code so i can edit it and then save it. Any ideas?

Build a page that loads the text of the .tpl file into a text area. Then build a second page that takes the submitted text from the text area and overwrites the .tpl file. It's not difficult, but you'll need your .tpl's to be writable by the web server and that's a security risk, not a big one but still a risk.

know of any code snippets to do this? Im not the greatest at doing things from scratch. Better at customizing. The scripts I found on hotscipts.com of course do a little more than i would like and would be difficult to trim down to what i need. Thanks for any help.

Sorry I build everything from scratch so I don't know where you'd find code to do this.
