Help me pls!

Hope this isn't going to sound like a really thick question, but I think it will.

I am trying to write script with php on apache.
I am doing this using a machine with no immediate connection, is there any setting that allows me to preview my script without having to keep connecting to either a network or the internet?
Hope this makes sense and someone can help me!

If you have Apache running on your machine just put this in the address
http://localhost/
Followed by whatever path and file you are trying to access in your web directory. And make sure the file actually exists in your document root as it is set in httpd.conf
