Download form

I'm stuck... I have a product for users to download but before they can download the product I want them to have to enter a name, company name and email address and then a new page will show up allowing them to download different versions of the product. I don't want them to be able to bookmark the page and later go to the download page. I want to be able to track what versions/products are being downloaded by whom.

I have figured out how to make a form that requires them to enter name, company name and email address. Now what do I do? Should I start a session? I don't want to update the db with their info until they also select the product to download.

If this doesn't make sense please let me know.

I would suggest that you just add some radio buttons for the user to choose what product version they want to download. Then after they choose that (along with their personal info on the same form,) you can have it start downloading their chosen version of the product.

Use a session. A good way would be to use the sessionid to check to see if they are current

if($sessionhash!=$session) {
  // error
}

also in the forum place a hidden field with a value of 1 and then do something like

if ($correctOP!=1) {
  // error
}
