file open/write/close

i just installed Apache on my computer to run php. everything is working awesome until i loaded up an old script that has fopen/fwrite and fclose tags in it. Everytime I run the script it comes up with an error so I presume its an installation problem as the script works well with an online server. If it's not an installation problem then please reply and tell me its not (or you could ignore it)

um, what's the error message?

Even without seeing it, using my Miss Cleo-like psychic powers, I'd say it has something to do with form variables not being registered globally. That upgrade, while admittedly a smart move on PHP's part and certainly one to make my scripts more secure, has caused more yanking of hair and gnashing of teeth...

ok, it's time to narrow down the problem and solve it. have you started by looking at whatever is on line 18? have you tried removing anything extraneous ABOVE and BELOW line 18 to see if that fixes the error or changes the message? parse errors are usually nothing more than syntax errors (forgot a closing quote or semicolon, that sort of thing)...

oh ok then. I have tried deleting code before it and after the lines. but as i said up above (i think did anyway) i tested it online with a server and it worked fine. oh, well i'll check my script then
