Is PHP suitable for use as a RAD-tool?

I mean, I have to make an application which involves ten to twenty screens, with forms and database (mysql) interaction. Could PHP be used for this? I need it FAST, it doesn't have to be really fancy.

Some more thoughts:
I'd prefer to code it as a standalone app..
Could I use something like PHP-gtk? Is this hard to learn?
Could you recommend other RAD-tools if PHP isn't used for this?
I know, I could just use VB6 but I don't like microsoft for some reason(s)..
but I'll get over this if VB6 is THE tools for the job 😉
I have to design this based on a bunch of DFD's (data flow diagrams) and ERD's (entity relationship diagrams) and such.. perhaps there's a tool out there that, like, automates this? (Hey it's worth a shot 😉

I would use a wysiwyg editor to do the screens, though...makes it easy and fast with the drag and drop elements. is there a particular reason for a stand alone? then you'll obviously need to install it on all machines....with the browser base, it is not as big a problem as the user gets the update the next time they view the screen.

Yes, I think I'll do the web version.. I was in doubt if I could make a webversion work on their intranet, but it seems the RADded prog is allowed to be one..

As for the wysiwyg editor, I've just installed codecharge studio.. it generates code, too.. looks very promising..
