Increment mysql field

Ive got a table that counts a number, i do something i want the count field to either increment or decrease by one, i know that there is some sort of mysql command, so that i dont have to grab the value, add or minus one, and then store it back?

any ideas

Dont think so, but I dont see the problem with grabbing it and storing it back.
