I'm having an online mysql database developed on which I want to connect from my home office using an ODBC connection.
Main purpose is to create a word-access mailmerge using data that are on the internet mysql server.
My sql provider provided me an IP address for the sqlserver but indicated that i have to connect internal from the webserver
on 10.0.0.1 Of course I have the IP address of the webserver too.
But when I create a dsn in windows (I downloaded the correct mysql odbc drivers, it can't connect. When i use a tool like mysqlstudio it can't connect either. I might be forgettig something because I don't know how to set extra parameters to set the connection.
Any help would be appreciated !!!!
