i have a descent internet connection(56k) and its been running at really bad ping on Counter-Strike and everyone is saying there are ways to lower ping...is there?....what can i do?....can u help me plz?

I don't think there is a way. Your connection is something you cannot change yourself.

may be try to write Turn-Based ASCII-Graphic PHP&MySQL-Driven Counter-Strike For Slow Connections . It helps to keep busy, at least. 🙂

There is someting in the powertoys I believe that let you adjust things like your mtu and all on a dial up connection. I've had DSL for a while, so I quit worrying about this kinda stuff, but I know that adjusting certain network settings will help. Just hop on Google and type in something like "windows dial up ping lag" and see what you get.
