PHP & Oracle?

I was wondering is PHP was good tires with Oracle.. like MySQL does. Since Oracle can offer alot more than MySQL I have been wanting to port over to it for some time but wanted to get the opinion of fellow PHP'er first.

why pay for oracle? what are the function that you are looking for?

Maybe look at:

MS SQL Server
PostgreSQL

if you need things like foreign keys and Stored Procedures and triggers....

to answer your question, yes PHP works wonderfully with oracle. it's really easy to add basic oracle support for PHP, and not much harder to add very advanced support that includes commit/rollback ability, stored procedures & functions access, and anything else you can think of. i develop and maintain about 15 different websites all running PHP with oracle, and in 2+ years we've never had a problem. (as opposed to, for example, JSP with resin or tomcat + oracle, where we've had tons of problems with open cursors, and other hassles)
