PDF and PHP without $1000 license?

Hi,
is it possible to find a cheaper solution to create dynamically a pdf document without buying a $1000 license for PDFlib?

I'm using Linux, therefore I cannot even use COM functions to create a Word document.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

I've found http://www.ros.co.nz/pdf very easy to use. Allows page numbering, graphics, page templates etc.
