Exporting variables to Microsoft Word via PHP?

I have a web script that defines a bunch of variables. I am trying to figure out how to export the variables from the script to Microsoft Word, so that I can populate a word template that I created.

Has anyone attempted this, or know of a place I can get some info on this?

Well, I'm trying to follow the COM article that is listed here on PHPBuilder to accomplish my goal with not much luck.

The code errors on this line: $word = new COM("word.application") or die("Unable to instantiate Word");

The error i receive is: Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: com:

I'm not sure what I need to do to correct this issue. If anyone has messed with this before, please help, i'm getting frusturated :mad:

I just tried the link from sourceforge that you recommended above. That was not what I was looking for at all. I think that was intended for dumping an entire database to a .doc file. I want to do exactly what is described in that COM / PHP article I posted above. However, I cannot get it to work. 🙁

BTW, I am running PHP 4.1.1 on Apache. Does this stuff even work on a linux box?
