Exploitation of my stats-script

Hi there,

I while ago I've created my own stats-script, which includes a visitor counter per hour, day and month and also collects the client's browser, os, screenresolution etc.. The script is very usefull to me and I guess others would be interested in the script as well. Now I'm thinking of offering a 'stats service' to webmasters who need a good stats script. I've got a few problems though: the script uses .dat files for storing the stats. I was wondering whether it is possible to place the .dat files on the users server, but still keep the actual script on my own server? This would save me quite some webspace, I think. Furthermore, has anyone got some tips on providing this service and in exchange being able to place some adds on the users site?

You can't write to the text file if it's on a different web server.. You gota give up the code or store everything locally. You should probably use mysql. Witch can store tons and tons of data with minimal size.

They log everything for you, and all ya do is paste there javascript that includes a dynamic image that bugs the vistors.
