looking for textarea WYSIWYG editor

Hi! I'm looking for a very lite WYSIWYG editor for textboxes (preferrably free). I don't a whole set of CMS scripts, just something that will let my non-technical users format the text they publish on our website (by format I mean make text bold, italic, align, etc). I can handle sending the input over the mySQL database...I just need simple formating.

Search the Web for Microsoft DHTML editing control. It's PC-only, and you need to write Javascript code to copy the data into the document form object and send it as if it were a textarea. Warning: The resulting code is crap, and needs to be cleaned up with something like HTML Tidy.

It seems you could write a javascript utility that would give you all the functionality you need for your application. For example this page:

Is rather ugly, but it could be cleaned up, stripped down, made downright nice. With a minor amount of effort it could write to a split pane and be turned into a true WYSIWYG editor, albeit a lightweight one.
