PHP and httpd.conf

Hello Everyone,

Wondering if anyone is familiar with a way to write to httpd.conf using php.

Im wanting to come up with a script to add Virtual host entries using a web frontend.

for those not familiar httpd.conf is the configuration file for Apache and entries in the file are specific on placement.

So in other words how can one write to an exact location within a file that is entirely to long to count chars, and is always changing in length anyway.

add a comment in httpd (ex. ###From here should be added entries by php)
then make the script search this line and so on...
