My browser displays my php code instead of ..

Hi guys!

I'm trying to get started with php and when I try to run different "Hello World" stories I just see my code in my browser.

So, my browser displays my php code instead of displaying what I mean it to display with that code. For example if I have the code- <?php echo $_SERVER["HTTP_USER_AGENT"]; ?>-
in my .php file, then it is exactly what my browser displays.

Anybody can help?

The simplest answer: You may be trying to open it directly in the browser by sending the browser to the local path it is stored, instead of the HTTP virtual address.

If it is anything more complicated than that, you'll haft wait for someone else to answer 🙂

BTW: It might be helpful to provide your server details, php configuration, stuff like that.
