and is it better to include functions but adding them from other pages or just write them all in the same page as functions??

what is a generaly acceptable file size for a php web page??

I don't think there has ever been some agreed upon standard regarding the size of web pages other than the smaller the better. However, not at the expense of saying or showing what you need.

As for functions, I think it's best to include them from different files. It's much easier to look at and focus on the logic of the program in genral when things are properly arranged.

That of course applies to the generated HTML and accompanying support files - not to the script generating it!

But it still often pays to break large scripts into separate files - a main script, and supporting function libraries is a typical approach - for the reasons BDKR gives: it makes it easier to read and debug. (And you can use the functions in other scripts.)
