Removing numbers from 6236 records.

How can you remove numbers from text filed.
There are 6236 records And i want to remove numbers from recoards.

The data is like this

1.some text in a text filed.
2.some text in a text filed.
................
............
6236. some text in a text filed.

what i wan to do is remove this number from as I already have a id filed which is auto_increment.

Is there any qucik way to do it.

If I understand you correctly, you have a multi field table where there is an auto incrementing ID column, and an additional surplus column containing a number???

if so, you simply need to do a DROP:

ALTER TABLE tablename DROP fieldname

If the actual number is part of the text entry in the text field then it will be a little more complex and I can't help you sorry:mad:
