uploading NEW records from localhost to remote host

I have a normalised mysql database with multiple tables that has been developed offline, but for an online database. I now wish to put the database online, and will create a GUI to allow online entry BUT ... my data entry people dont always have online access. Is it possible (after data entry onto the localhost) to detect the new records on a localhost and upload ONLY the new records? Or does it have to be synchronised? Or is it really not a happening thing?

is to write a page that looks up the timestamp on the last entry in the live database and then pull the data from the localhost and pass those values to the live DB where the entry time on the local is past the last entry time on the live DB...

Thats a good idea .... thanks for that brainwave!

If anyone else comes up with some other ways of doing it, I would be interested in hearing about them too ... at this stage I hadnt anticipated putting a time stamp on the entries ... but if this is the most efficient means of doing it, why not.

well not everything, but a lot of the transactions should be timestamped.🙂
