form name

hi, a short and simple question

<form name="something" method="post" action="sth.php">

in what variable is the "name" of the form passed to the sth.php?

i want the sth.php to be able to recognise from what form it was called and i though of using if or switch but i cannot figure out what i should check...

all variable, that inside a form will be passed to the sth.php with the same name,
this mean, you cannot use the name of the form, but the name in ie input or so

As bernouli mentioned, the PHP does not get a handle on the form name but you can use hidden fields to identify the form. Another option that seems a little cleaner to me when using multiple forms on a page is to identify which form by the name (or value) of the submit button, which DOES get passed in the forms variables.
