Search engine drop down box

Hi groupies !

Could somebody point me in the way of some help/tips for this problem ?

I am tying to build a 'search query selector' that will search using any search engine chosen. I have built a text box which will take the string and then the user can select from an engine (say google or yahoo) .

How do I get the search text into a google/yahoo search string ?

very basic, stripped down google search thing

$text="some search string here   ";
$text=str_replace(" ","+",trim($text));
$text="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=" . $text;
echo "<a href=\"javascript:location='$text'\">Search</a>";

mess around with somethin like that 🙂
