PHP and MySQL Corrupt a site?!?

Hi all

I've got a new one for you. I recently built a website for a church youth group using PHP and mySQL as a subdomain to the main church site.

I get a call from the main webmaster telling me that my site corrupted the main site because and I quote:

"Mishandling of the PHP and mySQL probably is what corrupted files and crashed your site."

At least that is what the tech support is saying. How in the world could my code corrupt the site? Okay, how in the world is that even possible?

With filesystems functions it is possible to open and manipulate files. Does your script use filesystem functions?
If safe_mode ist set to off php allows to execute abitary commands, so it is also possible to crash the system.

I hate it when web"master"s think they know everything when they really have no (insert explitave here) clue. I really really despise that... But anyway, I would just find out what he means by corrupted, or crashed. Maybe there was some sort of bug in the php that crashed the comp and he doesn't know how to fix it so he's pointing the finger. I'd just figure out what was the real problem and fix it for him, and tell him not to bother you again.

I have no file system functions in my code. The site is pretty much "read only" and the mysql user I created for the site only has select rights to the tables. My code is quite simple.

I think this is why I am so baffled by the response from tech support. I cannot imagine why a "read only" subdomain would cause the entire domain to get screwed up.

To be honest I think to provider is just a jerk. I moved my site onto a new provider and I have no issues.
