opening a .php file

How di I open a PHP file from an email attachment.
Do I need a special software to read that script language.
I am on Window XP and I can't seem to be able to open that file with the resources available on my Pc.

Please help me and advise what do I need in order to open a PHP file ?

You only need a texteditor like notepad or wordpad to open a php file.

I tried opening the file in notepad but it's in a binary langage not supported by my computer...

Then it isn't a php file. PHP is a scripting language. PHP file should be plain text.

If it is a PHP file, perhaps it is using the Zend Encoder or ionCube encoder. This prevents users from viewing "closed-source" PHP programs.

can I break the encoder or find a program to read this file. I don't know all that much about PHP and I'm just trying to see if there's any way I can access the information. Can I insert the file as part of an Html document to be able to read it. I am more familiar with HTML language and if I can figure out the right script to use, I might be able to open that PHP script somehow.

Is it possible to do so ?
