HELP!!! Picture of the day...

I need a script that changes a picture evry day : today..pic1.jpg... tomorrow..pic2.jpg..

I'm new to PHP and I can't make the script alone, can somebody help me? Pls

in this case you can just use the date() function to generate a filename... (check www.php.net for more info)

for example...


$picture = "pic" . date("Y-m-d") . ".jpg";

print "<IMG SRC=\"$picture\">";

in this case your pictures have to have the following file names:

pic2002-09-08.jpg
pic2002-09-09.jpg
pic2002-09-10.jpg
pic2002-09-11.jpg
pic2002-09-12.jpg
pic2002-09-13.jpg
pic2002-09-14.jpg
... etc

one picture for each day.

hmmm I developed something close to this a couple years ago and I found it annoying to have an error mesage everytime I forgot to add a pic so what I used was something like

$picture = "pic" . date("Y-m-d") . ".jpg";
if (file_exists ( $picture)){
     print "<IMG SRC=\"$picture\">";
} else {
     print "No pic today";
}
// clear the at cache set by file_exists function
clearstatcache ();

better ready than sorry I say

yep - i wanted to keep it simple - but what you also could add is an if stateent checking if the file actually IS a picture (jpg) file with getimagesize() - gives you even more security...
