sessions in php

i am using hyperlinks to pass the session id.

do i have to use PHPSESSID name for the parameter in the hyperlink in all programs or can i use any name??

ie; "http://mail.com/PHPSESSID=353453535" the same parameter name PHPSESSID in all programs???

please give me a solution for this.
