php & ms excel

Hello,
anybody have some experience with php & ms excel working together ?? I have made an application and right now I want to export data (in specyfied format) do ms excel. I now that this is possible, but I didn't find detailed informations about this two things:
- exporting to ms excel template (excel file exists and php only puts data into it)
- creating charts in ms excel

COM functions in PHP4
And then consult your Excel documentation/help files for that application's functionality (assuming you have its help files for VBA programming installed).

COM functions works only if you have Apache&PHP installed on windows server -> I was thinking about Linux support for this. Is there any other way to do all this things ??
