access Form values before submitting

Hi !

I have a Form which has 2 radio buttons and a list box. The list box shows values corresponding to the radio button that the user checks. And all this has to happen before the form can be submitted.

What should I do since I cannot use $_POST['proc'] to access the radio button checked by the user ?

use javascript to populate the drop down based on the selected radio button.

I forgot to mention that I am using PHP to populate the Drop Down as I am accesing the database to get the values for the drop down.

So, what I need is the way to check the value of the radio button checked and then pass it on to the PHP !

You can't do it the way you are currently (using php without submitting back to the server). You need to redesign it to use the method descirbed above.

Javascript can fetch the value for u, so u now which is checked.
Based on this u can make a choice of what php should grab for u in the database, but...->
If u need to fetch additional data from the database. i.e. to load data into another listbox or whatever, then u cant do it with php without reloading the page... and if i understand u correctly u dont want to reload nor submit the form/page before all things are set/chosen?

That's what I am asking...based on the value that javascript has fetched, how can I use that in PHP (in deciding what database) without submitting or reloading the form ?

If i have made myself unclear i'll try to explain.
You cannot with php dynamically fetch database contents nor print them to page without loading the page again!
What you wish to do is impossible based on php, as far as i know!
