Question about Textarea length

I have a news posting page with a textarea field. I use mySQL to post the text into my database. The page works fine, until I get long posts. When the text in the textarea reaches a certain length, the SUBMIT button will not work. Is this a problem with my web browser or with PHP? Any ideas how I can fix this?

variables?....the get method only allows about 2000 characters in the URL...if you are "Get" in the form, change it to "POST"
