Printing alphabet list with a loop?

Does anyone know how to get php to display all the letter s of the alphabet by using a simple while loop..... I am sure it must be able to do this and it would be great to know

whare are you bring the letters from? You could create an array a, b, c, ..... and then do a while loop.

i was just wandering if its possible rather than writing in an array of the letters of the alphabet but instead is there a function which does for example list all letters of the alphabet one after the other, i am beginning to think that there isn't och well, one array coming up as i really must get on with this will just write one myself but was wandering if there was one built in!

An alternative approach:

foreach(range('a', 'z') as $letter)
{
    echo $letter;
}
