Hello everyone!
I'm making a webshop for a company. They have alot of articles and alot of costumers.
As soon as the costumer has logged in, he's supposed to be able to add articles to his shoppingcart, as I've seen in alot of other webshops. But I'm going to let them keep their cart trough sessions. Add them to a mySQL-table. How do you ppl suggest I build up this table?

Well, first of all. I wouldn't store their cart in a database table. I use classes for the items then keep track of them in an array of the classes objects and store then in the session. Then once the make a purchase, store that transaction in the database.

Yes, I know, but my employee wants to have it that way if it's possible.

If you have to do that then set their session ID as a persistant cookie on their machine with setcookie() and also have a cookieID field in the database for each item in the cart. Then just do a select from the table to get all of the articles in their cart.

The cart was ment to be avaliable to the customers wherever they were just by logging in, not just from one computer but any computer. Screw it! I'll do the cookiething instead.
