PHP Update!! Pl Help

Hi,
I got PHP php-3.0.12 running on a linux server.. I want to run some source code from PHP 4.2.3 version on that server..

Do you think I have to update PHP on the linux server from 3.0.12 to 4.2.3 or this can be done without this...

If yes.. how can I do it..

Or If no.. How can I update the linux server from PHP 3.0.12 to 4.2.3

Please help..

You can have a dual install of both version.

How to do it you ask?

You can upgrade to, but that could break your code thats running on your php3. But that really depends..

I am still not sure.. If I want to install PHP 4.2.3 on a linux server .. Can I do it from a remote computer which has Win2000 on it or I have to do it from a Linux machine

You can do it from a telnet session (ssh if not in a secure environment) from windows2000, but you have to be able to get root privileges on the linux box.
