how to i create a subdomain: http://login.domain.com using PHP, Apache in Linux SO?

Add the system to a DNS server. It has nothing to do with the system itself. (unless it is the DNS server also)

You'll need to setup an Apache VirtualHost too - unless you want all of the subdomains to go to the same place.

After you've add the dns record, here's an example of the apache configuration

ServerAlias .sub.domain.com sub.domain.com <= use this if you want every subdomain under that subdomain to point to it

CustomLog logs/sub.domain.com.log common <= use this if you want the errors in your custom log as well

Or, you can do what I did, and just have *.domain.com point to the same server as your www.domain.com. Then, you just make sure that if you have an include file or a header or anything in your page, that you have a little function grab the subdomain.domain.com and check what the subdomain is and redirect as need be. You can test this out at my site www.nixxed.org, just go to the users page and see that each user has his/her own subdomain for my site. They really don't all have entries in my dns list, it's just my script. I also believe on the main page of this site is some code to use. Hope this helps too.
