sending SMS

hi guys and girls,

for once I ask a question :
I have a customer who wants to receive a SMS notification for events on his website (prospect signinup and such).
DO I have to install a SMS Gateway on my server or is there an easy (cheap?) solution I could use?

An easy method is to interface to an SMS gateway. Do a search on "SMS gateway" to find a list of providers.

You then create an account with them and to send an sms you fire off a http post to the gateway server (sending the number and message).
