Installed successfully on NT, unable to install on 98/2000

Hi,
I installed Apache 1.x + PHP4 on my office WinNT box and everthing worked great.

Now, I tried tried installing the same thing on my home Win98 but apache is not loading php4apache.dll saying, "Unable to load php4apache.dll because some required dll is missing." I did put php4ts.dll in c:\windows\system32 (and tried multiple places, all in PATH), still no luck.

I thought may be there is some problem with my old pc and so I tried installing it on my laptop which has win2000 pro. However, I am getting the same "Unable to load php4apache.dll..." error.

I searched the internet and everywhere people have talked about putting php4ts.dll in the right place, which I have already done.
So kindly help me.

It doesnt matter where you put the .dll file, as long as the httpd.conf file points to it in the correct location.

The error you are getting has nothing to do with the php4ts.dll. Read the error, apache is saying it can't find php4apache.dll that file should be located in yourphpinstalldirectory\sapi.
Read the install.txt file that came in the php zip and it will tell you step by step what to do.

trying to install php as apache modulde but no lucky. It returns an error msg sayin apache can't find php4apache.dll in sapi/.
i've tried various paths, combinations, even spread dlls all over the damn drive!
still gets error!
on the other way if i use as a cgi (which i don't!) it goes all the way fine!
how can i install php4.2.3 as an Apache 2.0.4 under win98?
it used to be fine with previous vers. of respective software untill i updated (clean install) today.

ps.: yes, i've tried to read readme.txt and followed it step by step. even still...
