gallery troubles!!!

Hi!

Got some troubles with my gallery.

I attached the file, hope it's not too complicted 🙂

Ok, I want to show 8 pics (2 rows with 4 pics) of a chosen category on each page, if there are more than 8 there should be a NEXT button displayed and so on. max count of pics = 50
I already built the necessary loop that makes a new row after every 4th pic. It worked perfect. but now as I tried to build in a "function" or select inquiry to first count how many pics a category contains and then to select for each of the 7 necessary pages the proper 8 pics nothing appears on the screen anymore??!!

Any ideas?? :9
