How can I always have 2 decimal places, even if it is .00 ???

Hi,

If i have a number say, 3.562 and I round it to 2 decimal places using:
round(3.562,2)
I get 3.56

But if I round a number say 4 (a whole number), to 2 decimal places.. I just get 4

How can I make it display 4.00 even if it rounds to nothing?

i.e. this is for money, instead of saying £4, I want it to say £4.00

You can use the printf function: e.g.

<?php
$test=1.999;
printf("%.2f", $test);
?>

Sid posted a reply that included the function number_format that does the trick as well, and i must admit, it seems to very customizable (and a more cool solution 😉 ), check it out in the manual, could be you might need more specialization for your numbers!!
