Dear All could someone tell me what it means when Mysql is installed 'as a service' how is this different to any other way of having it installed?
Thanks benG
When a program is installed as a service that means it will start up and run in the background everytime the computer starts. Basicly this means that MySQL will be running all the time without bothering you.
This only works when using an NT based machine (and if you dont know what an NT based machine is, I mean NT, 2K or XP)
