Question...

Let's say I want to post form data to my brother's site. (he's also running php)

Is there a way I can post the data there without leaving my php page? I don't really want to leave my site... just post to his.

I think what webJunk meant is don't want the page to be refresh after click the 'submi' button.

But I thought that's the behaviour of 'submit' button? Unlesss use flash, javascript to submit the data in Iframe, so the main page wont' be SEEM refresh, and everything is retain the same, with the data that the user key in. Can we do like that?

I haven't used it myself (yet) but I think you can do it with PHP using CURL

Doing it inside a frame or with javascript would be simpler, if not so elegant.

I think webJunk was also wanting to know if the action="" could be pointing to another [url]http://[/url] location. I've never tried it, simple enough to test.

I'd also use an frame to control it as your bro's script will want to return something. Unless of course you have a hidden field with a value of "webJunk" and your bro's script could see that and know to send headers calling a page back on your site.

Try fsockopen(), and in particular, have a look at this link from that page, which contains a function which will open a GET or POST transaction transparently (without leaving your page or so much as indicate that the request has been sent). I used that this morning to fake a POST request. Hope it's of some help.

Your brother may check whether the request came from your site and then return http header "Status: 204 No Content". When recieving such a header, browser does not refresh page, but stays where it was. Or at least should not 🙂 I've tried IE, Opera and NS and they understand 204 as they should.
