Apache 2 and mod_ssl

We have just installed apache 2.0.x.x.x. We are upgrading from apache 1.23. From what we understood, mod_ssl is now inculded in the package of apache 2.x. However, we can't generate any certificate with 'make certificate' and mod_ssl doesn't want to load when we start apache. We did compile apache with --enable-module=ssl.

Has anyone have any idea why mod_ssl isn't working properly?

How are you starting apache? Can you paste the last two lines recorded from your error_log after server start?
