Keeping hard returns when saving text

Hi All,

How is it possible to keep the lay-out of a text from a text area?

I mean, when someone breaks a line it's just saved as one line in the database. (And displayed in the php output scripts)

How can I keep those returns? Without having to ask my users to use <br>'s in their text?
