Help with get vars???

can anyone help me with $_GET as i dont understand it, i know that with register global var off you have to get every var and use it manualy, but i dont understand how to do it.

As i know this is a better and more secure way of posting or getting variables from one form to another page, i think i should learn how to use it.

so if you can help, give examples?? reply please

if(isset($REQUEST['your_var'])){$your_var=$REQUEST['your_var'];}

echo "$your_var";
