Question about: IP adresses and LAN

my setup is like this

---cable--->[router...32.25.7.53]----->[computer1...192.168.2.89]

my server is on computer1, with the ip 192.168.2.89

so when someone from let say japan trys to access my site from the internet, the global ip will point to my computer and i've had it so that the router will forward all access to port80 to 192.168.2.89's port 80

ok, now in my php application, when i want to log the visitor's ip
i ALWAYS only get 192.168.2.89, and never the visitor's REAL ip address

is this an easy problem to get around?

has anyone have experience?

WOW, it would be cool if you could do something like this with a higher level scripting language. I do believe with NAT, the original source and destination information are encoded in the newly wrapped NAT packet, however, I'm not so sure PHP can read the raw packet at it's level and parse that information. I would be more than happy to be proven wrong here. I'm not familiar with a large variety of routers, but I do believe you can specify a sys logging host at the router/firewall with Cisco which could in turn log this information for you. Again, I woudl love to know if this is possible and how to do it...if it can be done.
