Has anyone ever attempted running vBulletin on a diff. type of database server than MySQL (would that even work)? I'm getting poor performance from vBulletin v2.27. I've tried it on Win2000 (MySQL Win32 and IIS5.0) and also Solaris 9 (SPARC - MySQL 3.23.43 and Apache 1.3.9). I've tried in on slower and on faster machines but the performance has been consitantly poor throughout the different platforms. Please advise.
